Electrical wiring in question…

A sure tail sign of amateur workmanship is this, Non-metallic cable passed through knock-outs in the main electrical service panel which had no bushing installed. Bushings are electrical connectors designed to protect conductors where they pass through sheet metal. Without bushings, the sharp edges of sheet metal may damage the conductors.

Bushings also include clamps which prevent any pressure on conductors from being transferred to circuit breaker connections. This condition is a potential a shock/electrocution or fire hazard. The Inspector recommends that bushings approved for this purpose be installed by a qualified electrical contractor.
